” Literally, Great Americans have suffered death in the hands of COVID-19, and as president-elect, it has always been his mandate to put measures in place for the pandemic to slow down or be eliminated.
One of his standpoint campaign topics was that outgoing President Donald Trump has failed in handling COVID-19 well, for that many American citizens have lost their lives.
“I pledge to be a president who seeks not to divide, but to unify; who doesn’t see red states and blue states, only sees the United States,” Mr Biden said. Political rivals and racism have divided and torn up the country. This Biden seeks to redeem.
Again, he said, “I sought this office to restore the soul of America, to rebuild the backbone of this nation, the middle class and to make America respected around the world again, and to unite us here at home.
” To the Democrats, Trump has only not mishandled the pandemic but has also tarnished the image of America. This mandate of Biden and Harris is of a great deal to them.
The president in dealing more into COVID-19 stated that he will immediately and directly form his coronavirus response committee to ensure it is ready to implement decisions from his inauguration day in January.
“I sought this office to restore the soul of America, to rebuild the backbone of this nation, the middle class and to make America respected around the world again, and to unite us here at home.”
Mr. Biden gave great thanks to his family especially to his wife, and to his vice Kamala. He appreciated those who voted for him. He sent out words of encouragement to all those who didn’t say that he ‘understands’ why they didn’t vote for him.
“It’s time to put away the harsh rhetoric, lower the temperature, see each other again, listen to each other again,” Mr. Biden said. “And to make progress, we have to stop treating our opponents as enemies.”
Biden’s vice president-elect, Kamala Harris, a woman who has made history as the first female, first black and first Asian-American US vice-president-elect gave out her speech. One of the main focuses was that ‘America is ready.’
“And the road ahead will not be easy but America is ready, and so are Joe and I.” She also said that she won’t be the last woman to make great history as such but there will be many.
We haven’t heard from the outgoing President yet, but the question is what will he say? The result of the election got to Trump when he was at one of his golf clubs.
The event went well, and ended in style as fireworks were being displayed.
