Sarkodie announces up and coming album, No Pressure Dropping in July 2021

A man’s a man,

But when you see a king, you see the work

Of many thousand men.

What has happened so far …

It came as a surprise to many, but if you had noticed Sarkodie’s inactivity online, especially on Twitter, one could only assume that the King had something in the works.

Announcing his inbound album via the visuals only informed his beloved audience and fan base he hadn’t gone quiet just because; he had been working.

How it’s all played out …

Sarkodie’s last album came as a dedication to love, aptly titled Black Love where every song touched on love and emphasized the strength, character, and beauty of the black woman. That was way back in 2019. Before that, he dropped Highest in 2017, and in 2015 he dropped Mary.

It’s easy to see a pattern here; Sarkodie usually used a 2-year interval to work on his full-length albums. For an artist in Ghana, that speaks of how much effort and energy the rapper pours into his work, and that can’t be downplayed.

For some weird reason, it felt like the same way Eminem did when he dropped Kamikaze unannounced after all the backlash he got for his record Revival.

What the world realized at that moment was that Em didn’t need to do marketing or to announce that he was going to drop an album – that’s the level he’s operating at right now.

And it’s safe to say that in the music scene here, Sarkodie is akin to that position in the spotlight. Which explains why he announced with a clean-cut visual almost 3 months before the month of the release.

You might have your reservations about where his career is right now and a lot more people give him flak online based on some lines he’s dropped in the past, but you can’t deny what Sarkodie has done for Ghanaian music.

The man has stayed relevant despite all the artists who have come up and some things may have happened, but it doesn’t look like he’s going to slow down soon. And that is exciting to see.

What we can expect …

The album which is in collaboration with Ceek Music is titled “No Pressure” and will be dropped on the 9th of July 2021.
