The Quarter – final stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz ( NSMQ ) had been such a masterful contest. This stage of the competition has indeed and truly revealed true champions.

The actions and emotional parts have been out of control. At this stage is where we witnessed a tactical and master come back. If miracles are indeed a reality, then it all happened at the Quarter final of NSMQ 2020.

The Quarter final stage of NSMQ 2020 began smoothly on 2nd October, 2020 where we had our first share of the competition. At the end of day one, we witnessed Opoku Ware School strongly crashing their opposition schools, Holy Child and Wesley Girls High to secure their place in the Semi-final.

nsmq 2020

Not only Opoku Ware but Boa Amponsem SHS and Accra Academy who had the courage to eliminate last year’s champion St. Augustine College, also booked their place in the next stage of the competition, what good play by Accra Academy? Such a boost to the next round of the competition.

Achimota School who became the first school to qualify to the Semi-final stage at the day two of the Quarter final also secured their seat. By the courtesy of Afua, one of the contestants representing Achimota School did the miraculous comeback of the day for Achimota to win their competition against former champions Prempeh College. Also we saw the lives of Keta SHTS and the Santaclausians of Adisadel College overpowering their opponents to qualify.

The last day of the quarter final stage happened on the 4th of October, 2020. Where “Kumericans” now giants Kumasi Academy (KUMACA) and Aburi Presby SHTS and the unmerciful Presbyterian Boys’ Sec, Legon all making it to the Semi-final stage of the competition.

One can truly say, just as we had a masterful contest, we hope that schools will take that vim to the next stage for a promising competition.
