With much anticipation and high hopes from schools commencing the “Day One” of the One-eighth Stage of National Science and Maths Quiz ( NSMQ ) took place.

As the fixtures of the One-eighth Stage were balloted last week, 21 schools were expected to start off the One-eighth Stage. The event took place concurrently at two venues, that is, R.S Amegashie Auditorium, UGBS and New N Block. The event was aired on Facebook and YouTube respectively on NSMQ platforms.

Early at 9:00 am, Holy Child took on Oti Boateng SHS and Kintampo SHS at UGBS while Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Girls faced OLAM SHS and Boa Amponsem SHS at New N Block. The competition ended at 5:00pm where we saw qualifying schools making it to the Quater final stage.

Loosing schools were emotionally dramatized, filled with sorrow and inconsolable loose. While on the other hand, winning schools jubilated as they made their way to the next stage of the competition.

A masterful miracle happened when Boa Amponsem SHS made a miraculous win at One-eighth Stage of NSMQ. We also witnessed the lives of Opoku Ware, St. Margaret Mary, Wesley Girls, Holy Child, Ghana Sec Tec and Kumasi Sec Tec all making it to the Quater final stage of the competition.
