Fellow of the International Women’s Forum Leadership Foundation award winner Dr. Elsie Effah Kaufmann has been promoted to the ranks of Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, University of Ghana.
Dr. Elsie has been having a fantastic life after succeeding the former Eureka Emefa Adomako from 2001 to 2005 to be the now quiz mistress of the renown National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).
In the early life of Kaufmann, she had her secondary education at Aburi Girls’ SHS. In the year 1988, she had her International Baccalaureate Diploma at United World College of the Atlantic in Wales.
Dr. Kaufmann continued her academic studies at the University of Pennsylvania for her Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE), a Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) and PhD in Biomedical Engineering.
The newly promoted Associate Professor has had a wonderful career in line with her academia. Kaufmann was a Research Supervisor at the Department of Chemistry at Rutgers University in New Jersey, United States of America from May 1998 to June 2001; after being a Teaching Assistant at the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania, United States of America.
From 2006 to 2012, 2014-2016, the doctor has been working with the University of Ghana in the Department of Biomedical Engineering.
Increasingly drawn to empowering life, the ever-radiant quiz mistress has received a lot of admiration. She received the International Women’s Forum Leadership Foundation Fellowship in 2011 and the 2017 Impact Africa Summit Laureate for Education in Ghana.
Her successful life has paved the way for a lot of women to live inspirational lives, mentoring lives and a perseverance kind of living.
