A woman with a ground breaking record in Grammy. Beyoncé now has a total of 79 nominations in Grammy Awards where she has won almost 22 of them.
Well, it looks like her glorious shadow is following her lovely daughter Blue Ivy Carter. Prior to last month’s Grammy Awards 2021 nominations, Beyoncé topped the nominees with 9 nominations.
In her nominations, her song “Brown Skin Girl,” which Ivy Carter is credited as a featured artist, scored a nomination for best music video. This made Blue Ivy Carter an official Grammy nominee.
According to Associated Press, the 8-year-old’s name did not appear on the nominees list, but the Grammys recently updated its website to now include her.
The update also includes Nigerian singer Wizkid, who appears on the song and video. SAINt JHN — who is featured on the track but was not in the video — was still not listed as a nominee.
This kind of category is awarded to the singer and featured artist as well as producer and director.
Blue Ivy Carter opened and closed the song with a fantastic vocal performance. “Brown Skin Girl” is a song that celebrates and appreciates brown-skinned women. “Brown Skin Girl” appears on Beyoncé’s “The Lion King: The Gift,” a 2019 album featuring songs inspired by “The Lion King,” where Beyoncé voiced the character Nala.
Her appearance on the song has won her several awards including a BET Award, a NAACP Image Award and two Soul Train Music Awards.
The 2021 Grammy will take place on Sunday, January 31st. Beyoncé got married to the iconic pop singer, Jay Z on 4th April, 2008. The singer now has three kids including Ivy Carter.
