Black Star International Film Festival Closes Submissions

The Blackstar International Film Festival, based in Accra, opened up submissions earlier this year for individuals and agencies to submit their works in film for screening to stand the chance of getting played during the Blackstar International Film Festival come August this year. 

The Award Categories for this year included:

  • Best Documentary Film
  • Best Feature Film
  • Best Short Film
  • Best Student Film
  • Best Women in Film
  • Best Animation
  • Africa Rising
  • The ‘Odehye3’
  • Best Music Video (New)

The non-profit festival received submissions from all over the world including the United Kingdom, France, Nigeria, Canada, India, Belgium, Colombia, South Africa, Uganda, Austria, Benin, Brazil, Congo DR, Egypt, Guinea, Haiti, Malawi, Malta, Morocco, Namibia, Senegal, Spain, Taiwan, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia & Zambia.


Now that the date for submissions has closed, the Jury Members will watch and select from the submissions the ones that will be screened during the Blackstar International Film Festival in August. 

The selection process will run from April 30th, 2021, to June 30th, 2021.
